Blueberry Harvest

There are never enough daylight hours at the moment. We are flat out harvesting blueberries, carrots, onions and potatoes. Pumpkin harvest starts this weekend, and the Watties Harvesters have been in this week to harvest the sweetcorn, much to our boys delight as they love to see the big Combine Harvester in action.
The weather is playing havoc at the moment with the blueberry harvest. Blueberries like grapes do not like rain, as splitting can occur. The rain can also make it difficult to harvest the onions as they need to be very dry before being picked up. On the bright side all the crops are looking and tasting great.
Don’t forget to enter our competition; the month of March is your last opportunity.
