We are now harvesting organic blueberries and onions. This is so exciting for us. An early start for the onions is going well due to the hot fine days. We have had our first harvest off our young highbush blueberry plants. For Kevin and his blueberry team, this is extremely rewarding, as blueberry plants take at least three years before you can get a crop off them.
We have had a small amount of rain, not enough to stop irrigating, but the dust is dampened and everything feels fresher for a while. All the crops are growing so well.
We have big crews of hardy souls weeding, imagine weeding onions on a 31 degree day. Not an easy job. Some days we would easily have over 40 people working away to bring you the delicious “true earth” vegetables and berryfruit.
